How and where do profesional photographers work? How do they approach their projects? What are their studios like?
Photowalk is an activity that has been taking place since five editions. It consists of an adapted tour through a photographer’s studio and a center related to photography.
This year, the trip started in Bilbao, where we visited photographer Carlos Terreros’s studio (Getxo, 1972). Terrero holds a degree in Information Science for the University of Basque Country. He has worked for different newspapers and magazines. In 2000 founded Erosión magazine and his personal work has been exhibit all around Spain and has obtained several prizes.
Then we visited CFCBilbao, which is managed by Ricky Dávila. CFCBilbao, Center for contemporary photography of Bilbao, opened last january and its aims to be a forum of meeting and training photography in the city of Bilbao. Located in the emblematic building Edificio Ensanche, the space is both a school of photography and exhibition room. CFC Bilbao also publishes a quarterly magazine about contemporary photography called “Contratiempo”.
