The Hamaiketako talks (lunch in Basque) will take place on Saturday mornings, in the company of local artists and cultural agents with time and space to share.The aim is to foster unhurried conversation, to get to know each other, to exchange concerns, to dare to ask questions… In short, it’s an escape from the traditional “student-teacher” dynamic, offering an opportunity to enjoy a morning with Niko Vázquez and the creators of the podcast El espejo de Vivian y Francesca, Inma Barrio and Leire Etxazarra.

NIKO VÁZQUEZ
MAKE BILBAO GrAI AGAIN
Born in Bilbao in 1959, Niko Vázquez graduated in Audiovisual Communication / TV from Ravensbourne University, London. He developed the first websites for EiTB, EuskoTren, and EuskoTran, among others, and worked at Landor (UK), Thron Niebla 3D, and ETB. Alongside Eva Mateos, he directed the short film Hurrengo Geltokia, which won the first prize at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (2008) and the Experimental Cinema award at the Accolade Competition, California (2011). He founded the music group M.C.D. (1979) in the Irala neighborhood. Currently, he is involved in Motorsex, a band formed with his brothers Bernar and Xenen. The book Make Bilbao GrAI Again (Zorrotz Editorial, 2023) is the result of his experimentation with AI. This same project, in a short film format alongside Kote Camacho, received the WIP award at Animadeba 2023, an animation film festival. A second book, Bored of Being Wild (Zorrotz Editorial), with Adriana Rufrancos, will be published in April 2024. “From the outside, it looked like an apocalyptic environment, but from the inside it was a playground”.

INMA BARRIO AND LEIRE ETXAZARRA
EL ESPEJO DE VIVIAN Y FRANCESCA
The Mirror of Vivian and Francesca is a self-financed video podcast about photography with a distinctive personal style, named after photographers Vivian Maier and Francesca Woodman. Hosted by Leire Etxazarra and Inma Barrio, its main content consists of interviews with professionals of this field.
Born in Bilbao in 1979, Inma Barrio has been working in the industry sector in Bilbao for over 15 years. With a diploma in Labor Relations, she came into contact with photography in 2013 through CFC Bilbao, where she assumed coordination duties from 2018 until its closure in 2022. Her personal work has been published in a photobook format, with highlights including A Small Movement Among the Waters (2023) and The Translation of the Mermaid (2020).
Born in Bilbao in 1976, Leire Etxazarra holds a degree in Journalism and Sociology and has been working as a journalist for over 20 years. In 2017, driven by her recently discovered passion for photography, she created the blog Cartier-Bresson no es un reloj, followed by a YouTube channel of the same name dedicated to photobooks. She is passionate about research and dissemination of photography, particularly contemporary photography.
