•What

This is the popular participation space of Getxophoto, an open format for anyone who wants to take part in the Festival by submitting a single photo related to this edition’s theme, REC.

•Who

Anyone who wishes to participate, whether amaur or profesional, may do so. If you are a child, with the permission of your parents or legal guardian.

•How

Each participant must fill out the registration form and submit one (1) photograph to getxophoto@gmail.com* in relation to the theme that shapes the 2025 Getxophoto Festival program: REC—the overabundance of images that exhausts our sensitivity, the proliferation of fake images, the structural limits of data centers… What is the future of the image in this scenario of extreme recording (REC)?

* The image must be a JPG file with a minimum size of 2400 x 1600 pixels and a resolution of 240 dpi.

•When

The deadline for receipt of images is April 4, 2025.

•Where the photos will be displayed

–The organization, in collaboration with Gorka Garate and Eukene Olague, will selecta round thirty images to be exhibited in the shop windows of various businesses from the Algortako Dendak merchants’ association, depending on the suitability of the format and exhibition space.
–A guide will be published featuring both the selected images and the participating businesses, providing a route for those who wish to enjoy the photographic walk.
–Algortako Dendak Association, a partner of the activity, will select what it considers to be the best photograph taken by a photographer from Getxo and will award a prize of a €100 voucher, redeemable in one of the participating stores.

•Use of images

–Minors: the authorisation of their legal representative or guardian must be obtained.
–Getxophoto Festival may use the images received on its website or in future editions of the Festival, always including the name of the author of the image. These images will never be used for commercial purposes.
–Getxophoto Festival reserves the right to discard photographs that promote sexist, LGTBIphobic or racist violence.
–Participation is free, open, non-competitive and implies knowledge and acceptance of the rules.
